How Paperless Post Took My Over the Top Thanksgiving to a New Level

I take getting ready for the holidays very seriously with planning that begins months in advance. Thanksgiving is by far my favorite. First my crazy family of 10 has to figure out how we will all meet up, since we are spread out across the country and the logistics get complicated. Next, we have to figure out who else we will be inviting to the extravaganza - I think our record was 50!

The menu planning involves countless emails back and forth between the core chefs of the family, including assignments of who is going to make what, shopping lists, strategizing what can be made in advance and what has to be made on the day of.

Then there is the décor! Pinterest pages, screenshots, and texts make their way across the country to discuss the theme and latest trends in tablescaping.

This year, I decided to go even more over the top and formalize the invites and menus using Paperless Post. I have been an avid Paperless Post user since 2011 according to my Post Box. I have found Paperless Post a classy way to send invites and keep track of guest lists and there are so many free templates to use, the options feel endless. When I was asked to blog about my experiences using Paperless Post, I was thrilled to share since it has been such an important part of my entertaining style for years.

The invitation or save the date is the first communication your guests will have for your event. It sets the tone and theme, so choosing the right design is key. My goal is to choose an invite that will then fit with the décor, tablescape, and florals for the event. This year in collaboration with my Mom who is the graphic design matriarch of the family, we chose a pumpkin colored dahlia motif with plan to incorporate dahlias in the center pieces.

This year the invite and the menu motifs matched and guests were salivating to get a sneak peek at the delicious food coming their way. The invite helped focus the décor planning and help everyone work as a team to put together an epic Thanksgiving celebration.
